>Liens< 3 nô modernes

Based on three nô plays (Aoi, Hanjo, Yoroboshi) by Mishima, Risch observes people’s behaviour inside the couple and the group. The most common part of this intimacy is violence. Risch decides not to show it, her frequent use of understatement and ellipses might look like an observation of old-fashioned proprieties. The postures often remind of neo-classic heroes. Nowadays, these attitudes are stereotypes of the publicity universe. Yesterday’s exemplum virtutis has evolved into a call for consumerism.

« Although I never saw a nô play , reading many of them made me familiar with its poetic world of imagination.

I wanted to compose scenes and work out choreographies which could be contemporary dramas, stories of young people suffering, hunted by ancient human pains.

>Liens <, links, connections, is based on 3 nô plays (AOI, Hanjo, Yoroboshi) rewritten by Mishima in 1957.
