Playing it out !
“The writer writes himself into his work – which contains an element of posturing and artificiality – and the more he does this, the more he loses what might be called his authentic self.”
(Margaret Atwood, On writers and writing)
How does the artist move himself into his work?
And how is the pelvis behaving? Are the legs performing some subtle movements? Are the jaws clenched, is the tongue resting against the teeth, are the eyebrows low…..
There is a very active play going on between the mind and the physical body while we write, dance, play, create.
This body of work explores body postures that express and reveal the persons activity ( dance, drawing, law, yoga, ceramist,……).
